Google Cardboard Expedition

Google Cardboard Expedition

Google had chosen our school to show us the Google cardboard expedition on the 24th of November. While the year 8’s were at tech, the year 7’s stayed inside our block. We were shown by one of the workers of google of a new technology they have created which made us very excited that we can see it.

The technology had goggles at the front with a phone inside the cardboard. Also the teacher controls your phone screens. Once the teacher picks a location anywhere in the world you will be able to see it in 4D which was very interesting. If you rotate your body the camera will rotate so you can see parts of where you are standing.

We could see animals in the locations even a python. The teacher would ask us questions of the animals we saw like the python is cold blooded. We saw birds, snakes, insects, turtles, tortoise, dolphins, whales, fish and much more. We even went to space which was amazing.

The experience we had was stupendous. It felt so realistic a fun. Did you know we were the last school chosen in Auckland do this expedition. We were very very lucky.

Thinkboard Week 3

This week we had a task of completing a thinkboard. It was hardly tricky but I found the word story problem quite hard. I then got the idea of a person needing meters of ropes for a mountain trip. Hope you enjoy and please leave your comment.

Frozen Food

This week for reading we had the task to complete a presentation of question about a text called Frozen food. This text took place in Antarctica about a chef working in New Zealand first base in Antarctica Scott Base. Hope you enjoy and please leave a comment.

A Surviving Assembly

A Surviving Assembly

As I slowly walked in my shoes toward the hall, I was glad it was the last term. It was the first day of Term 4 meaning an immersion assembly. Every beginning of a term, teachers do an act or make a movie to the whole school inside the hall to get us excited for this term and to give us an idea of what the topic is for the term.

This term’s topic was called survivors, we were going to learn about habitats and how things survived. Once I heard that the topic was Survivors I was not that excited of the topic because one thing we were going to learn was about the habitats of animals and dinosaurs which we had already learned from a previous topic.  

There were many movies and acts like Karaoke and Dinosaurs but my favourite was from Team 4. I could see that the teachers were filming students in green screen with an animal in the green screen and the students would have to guess where they were. The teachers will give them clues like “Watch out” or “look at that splash”.

This immersion assembly was by far the best in the whole year. I’m looking forward to this term’s topic, can’t wait. One thing I know that we are learning is that how did humans survive.

Thinkboard Week 1

Decimals Week 10

It's finally the last week of term 3, YAYYYYYYYY!!! But I still got to finish the term off strong by finishing work off. This week we are learning about decimals. The presentation was easy but I got the felling I was getting some questions wrong. Hope you enjoy and please leave a comment.

Thirst

We were given a task to complete a presentation about a book called Thirst where a boy and girl don't hardly have any water to drink. The presentation was long as and took really long. Hope you enjoy and please leave a comment.

Measuring Angles
