My Holiday

My family were planning to go to Clevedon, Clevedon is surrounded by farms, livestock and the sea. After we arrived, our first stop was a park. we decided to go somewhere more comfortable like the sea so we went near a marae and found a park.

We got hungry so we finally ate. We made a salad. After our stomachs were full we played a game of soccer. We had lots of fun even our dad played. Soccer is a game where you use your feet, head and chest.

In soccer there are two goals lined up. Equal the teams then to start the game of two people face each other in the middle. Throw up the ball then kick the ball in the goal. There are also outs like when you kick the ball out of the line that is called an out that is when you can use your hand to throw in the ball in to your teammate. Goalies can touch the ball to stop it from scoring a point. After an hour it was time to go home but we stop by a beach.

Immersion Asemmbly

Immersion Assembly

I woke up by the sound of my brothers and sisters eating breakfast, holly cheese I just remembered today was the first day of Term 2, at Point England School. I changed my clothes then ate my breakfast and put my lunchbox in my bag. After what seemed like forever we set out to go to school.

As I arrived I saw a board with this term's topic but that's a surprise for later( I am not going to tell you yet). The second bell had rang and soon the hall will be filled with students. When everybody was settled Mr Burt, our principal announced this term's topic - "I like to move it, move it." At the end of the Immersion Assembly I thought about my favourite item and least favourite item. One item that was confusing was team three's. There item was about colours and light, like how the rainbow was made but that was quite easy the rest were way too overboard. I wish I was a year 3 or 4 so I could learn more about colours.

What got me hooked in was Team 1's item about being a zoo keeper and man they are gonna learn a lot. Also I picked up some words saying that tomorrow, 6th of may they are going to travel to Auckland zoo and find out how to be a zoo keeper and they are going to compare the equipment there and some of the year 1's home collectibles.

What my team was going to learn about was flotation. Like what floats and doesn't also displace(when weight is put into water, that amount of water rises). Buoyancy means , for example a stick can float. We also got to answer questions then have a prize.

Immersion Assembly was fun and I wonder what next term's topic is.

Fiafia 2014

Fiafia 2014

Fiafia was on Wednesday 9th of March there was only one sleep away from fiafia. The stage had already been build on the field near the staff room, the whole school was going to perform what they have been learning for their dance and just to see how it feels we did the whole thing on Tuesday until Wednesday.

The Big Day was here. I got a little bit nervous when I performed also the music was quite loud, you can start shaking. My favorite Performance was Jump Jam. The part I liked was when everybody was saying “Energy.” There was also a Koha box, I spotted the group that got the most, they were the senior Samoan.

My Animation A Monarch Butterfly Life Cycle

I made a animation using hyperstudio. This animation is about the Monarch Butterfly Life Cycle also I added a voiceover and sound effects using iMovie. Oh and remember to leave a comment please. The Life Cycle goes like this a Butterfly lays a egg that hatches also in that egg is a caterpillar and when it gets big it turns into a pupa, finally it transform into a butterfly.

SKATEBOARD STRUGGLE

Today my literacy teacher bought us new books so we don't get board so here is some of what happened in the 1st chapter.

There is a boy who's name is Evan and so his older brother Chris broke his leg after skateboarding and his parents band skateboarding for their family but Evan loves skateboarding. To be continued. What I liked about this book was the vocab because it hooks up the reader and then they get interested in your books. The Author for this book is JAKE MADDOX, Illustrations by SEAN TIFFANY. Also there are more books like this which makes me really excited.

Geronimo taking a dive in the Sea

Greetings my name is Geronimo, Geronimo Stilton. I work in the Rodents gazette the most famouse news paper in New Mouse City. Now that you know me lets get down to business on my story. It was a beautiful morning as I opened the window smelling the cheesy fresh air and the birds singing delightfully. As I got changed I thought of what might happen in the future, Going to be a Magnificent day or a disaster. As I went
to work, something felt strange but I couldn't recognized it oh well doesn't matter I got into my office suddenly Thea my sister slammed the door shut with the News Paper " Geronimo listen to this the pirate cats almost attacked New Mouse City but they got hit by a meteor also there is a treasure chest on that ship filled with a sacks of gold" she said. I was amazed also it could be a good discovery for my news paper. I told Thea "Can you find anymore information" Thea started giving tons of information "It is located in the ocean of Chuckland Beach 10 km away from the shore also it is near the catfish camp." Me and Thea agreed we will have 50, 50 of the treasure so it can be fair. All of a sudden the door slammed open again for this time it was Geronimo's Cousin Trap "I will give you more information if you give me 100% and you two will have 50%" Trap said but that was no excuse for me to squeak "Sorry but we already agreed so you can't have anything you got that OK now GET OUT!!!" Both of us pushed Trap out and locked the door got our gear and in a record time like a lighting strike we zoomed out of the window. When we arrived at the location we hired a submarine and we went over surface until we hit 10 km, we sank like a rock and you wouldn't believe what we saw. There were schools of fish and colourful plants like coral and more but that all diseapeared when we shock with freight when we saw a catfish and there it was the treasure luckily we were invisible and grabbed the treasure chest and celebrated.

Swimming Explanation

As we Walked to Glen Innes Aquatic centre on Monday I was wondering what we might learn, our maths group exit the school grounds after morning tea. I usually get put in group 2 and never enter group 3 but I don’t mind it is much more fun in group 2.

Two by two got into the pools and the instructors tested our skills to see what level we are in or group. Guess which group I got in yeap number 2, here is a list of what they tested us. Hands at the top of a board and kicking, hands at the bottom heads on our chest and kicking, arm circles, freestyle.

The next day we did something different. Lora group two’s instructor said “today we are going to see you do freestyle two at a time and you can do 10 laps if you want to.” The freestyle started also to make it fair, if you are tired you can turn over and do backstroke if you want to. Me and Taimana did 8 laps.

The day after Tuesday We did the same thing on Monday but no freestyle we added backstroke and rocket arms. My badest swimming technique was rocket arms, you had to keep your chin on your chest otherwise you will sink like a rock. Everything else was perfection.

It was wednesday and we forgot about backstroke and added breathing position. The 3 main steps to do with this is Brain,Goggle and Cheek, so your brain must be touching the water also check and goggles should be out of the water oh and one hand in the middle of your board. Shoulder facing to the ceiling too.

Swimming was awesome in fact I loved it. The reason why we learn to swim is because New Zealand is surrounded by water so if kids get lost in the sea they won’t drown they will just float because they will know how to swim.

Camp 2014

The first day of camp was going to be amazing. As I got out of my bed I ate my breakfast, changed into the clothes I choose to wear for camp and of I went to school. This camp was only for year 5 and 6 oh and we do this just for the experience.

Our first activity was cooking so Miss Tito divided us into three groups. She handed each group a bowl and mixing material, she said “we are going to cook corn fritters.” So first we had flour put into our bowl then a mixture of corn and egg also some more ingredients that I can’t remember. After that we cooked marshmallows and squish two biscuits on it. Yum!!!

After that we played top town here is what we had to do
1.Going over the swamp, Using cardboards.
2.Water Fight,Throwing water bombs to the other team
3.Longboard, Going over the swamp with long boards
4.Under the tunnel
5.Catapult, Catapult tennis balls on to the others teams base and get 10 hits
6.Sponge water, Getting water into a sponge and take it over to another bucket
7.Put up the flag once you are done go back to your base and put up the flag.
Eventually the other team won and there name was Care bears oh well doesn't matter it was just a game. The problem that how we got lost was going over the swamp, the water fight was fun but we got 7 people out of the battlezone also the Care Bears got 3 out of the battlezone oh and our team is called Caretakers. Care Bears bate us again on the longboard so that left us behind but the catapult was hard. A direct hit gets you 2 points but if it rolls on the other teams base then you get 1 point. We cheated a little bit but we were neck to neck. We made a chainsaw to keep the water from spilling but we were almost there until Care bears had already finished but we had too so we quickly went back under the tunnel and over the swamp with the longboards but we were too late Care bears had put up their flag.

I have enjoyed camp, it was a great experience. My favourite activity was kayaking also Mangere Pools. That was really fun. Here is a link about kayaking make sure you leave a comment.http://pesaaronk.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/camp-2014-kayak.html

The Birds nest

My reading group was told to read a story then answer some questions. Here they are, please leave a comment.

The Bird Nest
Tom woke up and turned on the lamp. He pushed the sheet and Woollen rugs off himself and staggered to the Window, which was partly open. He looked up to see a full moon and there, in the moonlight, sitting on a nest in a massive gum tree, was a mother bird and her noisy baby chicks. The nest, made from twigs, straw, wool and dead grass, was swaying wildly from side to side. As it did so, the mother bird tried to calm her frightened young ones by chirping softly to them.
