Hello 2015!

You know how you get the feeling that you are gonna miss all the good times you had in 2014 and then the next day it's gone. Every year I get that feeling. We use to go at midnight on the 31st of December to see a display of fireworks lit up on one of the levels of the Sky tower. Even at that time more fireworks are lit up at people's houses. Though we're not going this year or last year or even the year before that because it is a really busy day on  New Year so my dad goes to work. So we watched it on the news instead but we did not know that we would not be able to soon. The next year later Sky, Frievew and more company's had to be owned to watch TV witch give's you more channels. I wish you all a Happy New Year. Please leave a comment.

Table Tennis And Pranks

Ever wonder a sport called tennis could be played on a table. To play the game you would need first two table tennis racket for you and your partner or competitor also a table and a net and a ball. Before the game starts you should know how to grip your racket witch will be explained in the video. You always have to hit the ball over the net not bouncing it on the ground then over the net. Either hit it before it hits the ground or let it hit the ground then hit the ball. Now forget about Table Tennis and let's move on to Pranks. Watch this video that will show you how to do a phone prank. Hope you enjoy and please leave a comment.

Away from Camp

Away from Camp

Tuesday, the day the year 6’s departed to camp Bentzon on Kawau Island. Unfortunately I didn’t go, when I arrived to my class. To my surprise Mrs Jacobsen stayed behind to look after the remaining kids including some year 5’s from our class.

She introduced us to a slide of what seemed to be called Flash Trash. Explaining that it meant to create whatever you want out of trash. Though everything does not have to be made out of recycled rubbish. I finished my project with my partner Zack, we made a Skytower, a Pom Pom and a wave witch Zack made. Also in our creation we had to have a story from what we made, we called it The Tsunami, Pom Pom of Auckland.

For the next 2 days after Morning Tea we had ICT/Music(ICT means to create an animation). In music we were learning some cords of the guitar. One of them is the A cord, which was used in a song we were learning called Tou Tala Tala. I successfully completed it.

When the clock stroke 12:30 we swapped going to ICT while the other group enter’s Music. Our animation relates to our topic Art Attack. A picture had to be chosen from one of the artists in the 1800s known as the Victorian Era. We then made a story out of that piece of art.

As friday ended I thought to myself “not going to camp wasn’t so bad after all”. We had free time after lunch for the whole hour. I guess I could still have a smile on my face.

How to Be a Good Friend

A friend is a person who shares and is kind to one another. By doing this you will be recognised from your mate as being a good friend. If friendship brakes apart, your future will be nothing but loneliness and misery.

Sharing is an excellent way to start by getting you a buddy. Having fun with one another is one key to becoming a devoted friend. Sharing means Kindness at the same time. Not only you have to share but be kind when you're playing your game.

Supporting gives your classmate(or not your classmate) the strength, energy or a boost to keep on going. An example could be in a sport. Your companion will see you as an amazing person when he/she is supported.

If your partner can’t trust you, he won’t see you as a friend. Honesty must be inside you or you can lose your friendship. Being honest is part of being a good mate.

Having an awesome friend can be better than anything in the world. Make sure to get yourself a mate.

Being Fit

Being Fit:

Did you know that your body is a amazing machine? It just needs to be used everyday to keep it working well.

Exercise keeps your body strong and fit. Fitness means having the energy to work and play and do all the things you want to do easily. Your body cannot store fitness, so you need to exercise regularly to stay fit.

Exercise makes you feel and look better. It keeps your body a healthy weight, it helps you relax and sleep better and when you exercise. Your body produces chemicals called endorphins which go to your brain and make you feel good.

Exercise for strength makes your muscles stronger so you can work different parts of your body without feeling weak. Exercise for stamina makes your heart and lungs stronger and helps blood float easily around your body.
Stamina is the ability to exercise for longer without getting tired or out of breath.

So you need to move it!

What are Capitals Used For

WALT: Write an explanation telling people what capital letters are and when you use them in writing.

Upper case letters of the alphabet are bigger than lower case letters. Capitals can only reach up to the upper line. They are not always the same shape as the lower case letters e.g Qq, The bigger Q is not the exact same shape as the little q.

At the start of a sentence, Capitals are needed. You know when to add a capital because uppercase letters are added after full stops, question marks and exclamation mark. E.g “Lovely day isn’t it “ said Joe. Joe’s friend replied “Indeed”.

Upper case letters also start at the beginning of Geographical places, for example Auckland, New Zealand is a city and a country or Europe a continent. Places like Skycity or a town called Glen Innes also needs to start with capital letters.

Big letters are also used at the start of a day or month, for example: 15th October, Wednesday. Also they start at the beginning of holidays like Christmas, Easter and Labour day. You need a capital at the start of a date otherwise you won’t know the exact date e.g “ I am arriving at Australia Sydney on december 28th saturday for easter”.

Titles of movies, games, shops, companies, schools, TV, books, brands and airlines also have capitals. If upper case letters weren’t sawn at the start of the word, you would not know if it was a movie, shop, game or a airline. For example air new zealand, if there weren’t any capitals then who will know what airline it is or if point england school did not have any capitals, who will know which school it is.

Now that you know what capitals use them! To make your reader understand what you are writing.

Fields have been out of Action

Fields have been Out of Action
Aaron, Point England Fields

Fields have been closed for muddy reasons. Children have been getting their uniform’s dirty.

Point England school have had issues of Field getting too muddy. Mr Jacobson (our school principal assistant) has declared the Fields closed. This was agreed when physical sports were played on the school field, also teachers have been disgusted by children filthy shoes and feet . With the permission of the principal the fields were officially closed.

Another reason why the grass is getting killed is because the rain and winter. When rain is being poured to the surface of the fields, children run and play over it that's how mud and rain get mixed together and that’s  you produces mud.

Point England School has made a Korero for people to know of keeping the fields tidy by not walking over it, that Korero is B. N. 2 the G. G( Be Nice 2 the Grass and Gardens). The Fields should hopefully be nice and clean but there is no guarantee. The Korero should stop people from walking on the grass.

The investigation goes further of how this can be stopped as soon as possible. “It’s the walking on it that bring’s the moisture up into the soil that makes it muddy” say's Mr Jacobson

about how to help the fields. Here is the process, first someone decides to take a walk on the field. The child’s shoe brings the water into the soil which makes the beautiful field a muddy field. Believe it or not but the gardens have the same problem.

Hopefully in summer or autumn the fields will get dry and once again beautiful, no more lakes no more dirty uniforms.

Change of Uniform for Seniors

WALT: use the structure of newspaper articles to write my own article.

Change of Uniform for Seniors
Aaron, Glenn Innes Point England School

Point England school upgrade uniform for Seniors. Jackets have been chosen by the students.

The reason for getting new jackets for seniors was of when you get to a year 7 or 8 grade you feel more like a grown up. Imagine if you are 13 years old and still wearing the same school fashion as 5 year olds. When Point England school became a intermediate school, the staff discussed it.

The office ladies called three people in with some models of jackets in the school’s colours black and red also on top of the jacket was a black hat for $10(for the seniors). The models were showed to the seniors and was chosen. The logo was put on.

The Jacket was priced by $55.00. 98% of seniors are wearing Jackets so if 2% of seniors wear the school’s Jackets then all of the year 7 and 8s will be recognised as seniors. Seniors thought the idea was perfect, they agreed and were asked to choose.

Miss Garden a teacher at Point England school says “ In the morning when it is cold they could wear a sweatshirt underneath thier jacket to keep warm but they don’t I would really like to know why”. The senior girls get a cloth for $56. Year 6’s next year will be getting Jackets, let’s find out if all of those students get a Jacket next year in 2015.

Fishing Farm

In reading we read a journal called Farming Fish. It had given a introduction saying they lived in a village called Togori in a island called Makira in the Solomon Islands. The Chief of the village had an idea of making a fishing farm because bad weather means no fishing. The villages thought he was crazy but he had profe from a magazine. His plan started, taking three years to build and finally it had been completed. They made three ponds with pipes connected to the river for water to arrive at the pounds. Fish was very important to this village because shops weren't that popular in these islands and so no fishing no food. Hope you enjoyed this text and please leave a comment.

Let the Games Begin!

Let the Games Begin:

The Commonwealth games is almost here to entertain you from( can’t tell you)..... Wondering where the commonwealth games is being held. Make sure to have a Scottish accent when you are sitting in your seat, because this year it is being held in Scotland Glasgow. Get ready for some spectacular moments of sprinting, Badminton, Shot pot, Swimming and much more. 71 countries competing with over more than 2,000 athletes. See one of the most fastest swimmers, sprinters, cyclists and even the most strongest shot putters. Make sure to book a ticket to 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth games.

The countries I am supporting is Pakistan, New Zealand and Malaysia. Guess what? I am not even from any of those countries and I am supporting them. Why? You ask. Well glad you did because I come from Afghanistan, Afghanistan’s neighbors is Pakistan( Afghanistan is not in the commonwealth games). I have no particular reason for malaysia but they are the only muslim country that almost participates in every event. I support New Zealand too because I live in New Zealand.  Now lets get over what country I am supporting and go to sports.

The first game is scheduled on the 24 July 9:00, this game is called badmington a sport almost like tennis. In badminton instead of a ball they have this round bottle cap( kind of like that) underneath a, well it is like that thing for weddings where girls put on that thing to cover their face. That is upside down and hard on the bottle cap. After you have that grab a racket and let the games begin( start like how they start in tennis). Michelle chan a female representing New Zealand. Kevin Dennerly-Minturn a male also representing New Zealand in Badminton. Good luck to both of those badmingtons.

HOCKEY!!! A sport never played by me but a sport absolutely that can be recognised by me. Who could never hate hockey, “ I do because they keep on hitting me in the leg” lets ignore him and get down to playing this event. First of all your game must include gear, flat field( no bumpy grass), and of course something to hit with your stick. Now you must be thinking “ What are you talking about”? Well I call it a stick but it isn't, this is a flat stick and at the bottom comes a curve to hit a flat round ball. Seriously I don’t know why everything is so flat in hockey, actually not everything. This is a team event that is like soccer only you use the incredible flat stick, including the round flat ball.

It is going to be a blast learning about the commonwealth games, wonder who is going to win. I am so excited I could just sprint across the water like a rock and go to Scotland Glasgow. Make sure you watch the Commonwealth games.

Extension Commonwealth 2014

Commonwealth 2014:
The Commonwealth games is held in Glasgow, Scotland this year. Now you maybe wondering what is the Commonwealth games. Well the Commonwealth games first started when Britain made a club called Commonwealth of Nations. This club was about  friendly and fair, they decided to make the Commonwealth games which will have sports and people participating in it. However those who are for lets say America must be ruled by the queen herself, America is not in the games for they are not ruled from her majesty the Queen. The Commonwealth is not just about the games it is more than that. This club is about friendship and working together for example if Australia was attacked they would hope that the commonwealth would help them. Now to see which countries are in the commonwealth.

My Rap:

These are the countries that are in the commonwealth. In the pacific, there are ten countries including New Zealand, Australia, Tonga and Much more. In Asia there are 8 countries participating. For Example Malaysia, Singapore and India. Every 4 years the commonwealth is held anywhere in the countries that had choose to be in the club. In Africa there are 18 countries participating in the commonwealth including Malawi. Europe has three but not quite for there are many in the united kingdom. Caribbean and America have 13 countries in the commonwealth. Thank you for listening to my rap.
